Yagna Narayana Bhatt, (4th great grandfather of Shri Vallabhacharya Mahaprabhuji) was a great Vedic scholar and priest. During one of his Soma Yagnas, Lord Vishnu appeared and promised that after the completion of 100 Soma Yagnas in his lineage, He would incarnate in their lineage to restore bhakti and dharma in Kali Yuga.
Each generation performed several Soma Yagnas, symbolising purity, devotion, and the highest spiritual attainment. When Vallabhacharya’s father, Lakshmana Bhatt, completed the 100th Soma Yagna, the family became spiritually prepared for the divine birth. Thus, Vallabhacharya’s arrival fulfilled this divine promise — signifying the descent of Lord Krishna’s grace and the beginning of the Path of Grace (Pushtimarg) for the upliftment of humanity.
The completion of the 100 Yagnas symbolised not only ritual fulfilment, but the culmination of selfless devotion and service — key ideals later expressed in Pushtimarg. Thus, Shri Vallabhacharya’s birth represented the fruit of pure devotion and divine promise, not mere ritual reward.
In essence, the 100 Soma Yagnas were both a spiritual preparation and divine condition — ensuring that the lineage was sanctified and ready for the manifestation of Shri Krishna’s grace through Vallabhacharya Mahaprabhuji.
